I’m delighted to announce that scenes from my one act chamber opera, Love/Hate, will be performed this coming September at the Philly Fringe/Live Arts Festival, an international presenter of the performing arts. The festival is actually two concurrent arts festivals, the Live Arts Festival and the Philly Fringe, rolled into one. CoNEXTions: The Next Generation of Opera will be presenting the piece with the Center City Opera Theatre on September 12th at 3:00pm.
Curious about Love/Hate? Click here to read about the college professor, bi-curious george, lesbian pole stripper, cassanova, and other characters from the opera… You can also listen to excerpts sung by Jill Grove, Marnie Breckenridge, Thomas Glenn and Brian Leerhuber.
This event is special in that it invites audience participation, calling upon the listeners to give feedback to both me and the librettist, Rob Bailis; it promises to be a productive experience for everybody. According to the website tickets are now sold out, and if you are interested in going you should call for availability. See you in Philaelphia!
