This is some of the first music I performed, recorded and produced concerts around, about 20 years ago in New York! I was lucky to work at a pretty young age with some phenomenally talented performer/improvisers, including violinist Mark Feldman, reed players Rob DeBellis and Marty Ehrlich, cellist Dawn Avery, bassist John Goldsby and percussionist Kory Grossman. My goal then, as it is now, was to erase any lines between genre, and stay open to all the expressive possibilities inherent in my musical ideas. I’ll be posting more of this material, and aim to re-release it later in 2011.
